About Derrick
H. William Derrick Jr. founded Derrick
Corporation in 1951 with a commitment to superior
equipment design and manufacturing excellence.
During the first half of its existence, Derrick Manufacturing
focused on applications in the mining, industrial, and chemical
industries and built an impressive reputation for solving a wide
variety of the most difficult fine screening and separation
problems.
A major turning point occurred in 1977 just after Derrick had
developed a new non-blinding, multi-layered fine screen assembly,
the Derrick Sandwich Screen® panel. A Derrick sales
representative suggested applying Derrick technology in the oil and
gas drilling industry in the area of solids control. As a result,
Derrick Equipment Company was established in Houston, Texas to serve
that market. Today, sales in the oil and gas drilling industry
account for a significant part of Derrick business.
Slurry Separation Specialists
Since 1988 Derrick has been providing equipment to the various civil
engineering applications. To better serve our customers worldwide,
Derrick recently established an international civil engineering
office, Derrick GmbH Co. KG, in October of 2000.
Derrick provides slurry separation and desanding equipment for civil
and underground construction industries such as: Tunneling,
Microtunneling, Horizontal Directional Drilling, Water Well Vertical
Drilling, Environmental Vertical Drilling, Large Diameter HDD River
Crossings, Foundation Drilling and Slurry Wall Construction.
Derrick’s slurry separation and desanding equipment are designed to
maximize solids removal capabilities while significantly reducing
costs associated with slurry disposal. Derrick offers individual
equipment and complete systems. Individual equipment includes
rugged, dependable high G linear motion shakers, numerous patented
screen surfaces, hydrocyclones, agitators, centrifugal pumps, flo-dividers,
belt scalpers and centrifuges. Wide ranging ground conditions mean
there is a need for a highly flexible separation plant. Derrick
offers several complete systems capable of recycling mud and
bentonite slurry rapidly and efficiently.
Derrick is well known for many significant innovations and currently
holds twenty-nine U.S. patents (twenty-four International patents)
and has twenty-three patents pending. Derrick Corporation, owned and
operated by three generations of the Derrick family, is committed to
the principles that have led to its success; high quality,
innovation and reliability are Derrick’s pledge today and for the
future.
